I remember after the Republican National Convention a few of us decided that we should keep together the Gray Coast Cluster so if we needed to pull of larger actions in the NW then we had crews that were ready to come down and throw down. It made a lot of sense to me, but I'm curious about why that never played out and I'm wondering how (or whether) we should keep that going.

What do you folks think about reviving and even strengthening the G.C.C? How would that look? What would it take to do that? And is that something that we really want?

If the same or similar AGs are still active, then perhaps it would be good to gauge enthusiasm for a GCC spokes in the next few months. I'd be absolutely interested. The regional model that came out of the RNC has a lot of potential for future organizing, and could be a powerful way to energize/escalate existing projects.

How about mid February in Olympia? That way it would be between Seattle and Portland and it would draw a lot more people. How does that sound?

That sounds great to me, although I don't exactly have a lot of obligations in the coming months and any time frame would be fine for me. There should probably be more people brought into the conversation before acting on a particular time. If interest in reviving the cluster is low, we will have to discuss other options. Some manner of regional organizing is necessary, I believe, and I think the semi-organic nature of the cluster model would be best.

I definitely feel as though a loose regional network would be very helpful in future events and actions. Maybe a kind of forum where people can bring material and small explanations about their different projects and how others could show regional support. A good example could be the struggle against the I.C.E detention center and Wells Fargo Connection to GEO Group. Getting info like that out their and into others hands who could then return to their communities and plan their own actions and shows of solidarity. This would build both cohesion between anarchists in the N.W as well as build our practices of revolutionary solidarity. Maybe a good text to draw from would be the Greek pamphlet Towards an Anarchist Insurrectionist International, a proposal for debate. That text has been posted on this forum and has much to be taken from it. I would definitely attend a gathering of sorts to touch base and strengthen ourselves as an autonomous anarchists. I wouldn't be oppose to changing the name... For much of the time spent in St. Paul I was referring to it as the Grey Coast Cluster Fuck.

It would be amazing to see some informal organizing of some sorts in the US. Especially since the US anarchists are lacking a lot all around.... As a strength it would be a good to work on the relationships. Not being so insular with each other and turning our head once the lack there of communication is trying be breached. The text put together by the Mediterranean (which i had posted under internationalism) comrades could be a starting point and the working out of some sort of strategy. Not having a name would be something interesting. A thing i personally would like to be seen used in an effective way. Leaving names for specific social centres and publications in the Northwest. Yet also sharing these types of publications and projects being worked on. Like Victor L. mention ICE detention centers in the US, The Olympics in Canada, SPP and other types of things. Could lead to a conference or forum.

Escalation was something i had read while being in St Paul. Which was interesting seeing the differences and similarities between the events and ways of organizing. Then the events leading up to Alex's death. Seeing how the anarchist in Greece activated each other. There is also an excellent section in the 1992 April/May issue of Anarchy: A Journal of Desire Armed that shows the different groups of anarchist spread through-out Greece during that time there magazines and number. Not trying to say the Northwest should publish all the projects going on but it is an interesting reflection comparatively to the recent events in Greece.

Is there still interest in having this meeting? I'd be all about it, but we should try to come up with an exact date to propose to others. I think late February or early March would probably work best at this point, it being almost February now. Maybe we could use this as a place to kick around some vague topics of conversation, as well.

Also, I'd like to take a look at some of the stuff you posted there Sophia, but the host site's bandwidth limit has been exceeded. Any other places one might find it?
